THE northern parts of the country have continued to experience consistent rainfall this week, with more showers, ranging from moderate to heavy, expected in the coming days.
Tsumeb, in the Oshikoto Region, remains one of the areas to have witnessed frequent rainfall in recent days, occasionally resulting in flooding. Katima Mulilo, in the Zambezi Region, is also among the areas recently affected by heavy thunderstorms, with some parts of the north-eastern town reportedly recording between 60 and 80 millimetres (mm) of rain recently.

Nkasa Rupara National Park in the Zambezi Region also experienced notable showers recently, recording 30 mm of rain between Monday and Tuesday.
According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, additional rainfall is expected in the northern regions over the coming days. The agency highlighted the Kavango, Zambezi, Ohangwena, Oshana, and Oshikoto regions as areas likely to experience moderate to heavy showers.
Beyond the northern parts of the country, the Namibia Meteorological Services also predicts that moderate to heavy rainfall will affect parts of the Otjozondjupa Region.
These showers are expected to be particularly heavy in some areas, potentially resulting in flash floods, especially on Thursday. The Namibia Meteorological Services cautioned that flash flooding is possible in various areas and has advised the public to take appropriate safety measures to maintain their safety.
