THE third incident of drowning has been reported in the Oshana Region since recent rains that filled water pans, shallow water channels and flooded a number of residential areas.
In the latest incident, a lifeless body of an unidentified adult male was found floating in water in the Evululuko informal settlement of Oshakati on Wednesday morning.
A female resident who was looking for her chickens noticed something floating in the water and initially thought it was a red plastic bag, but on closer look, she realised that it was the body of a human being.
She then called a passer-by, who notified the police.
The body was retrieved by the police’s Reserve Force divers and was taken to the police mortuary.
Community members are urged to visit the mortuary and help identify the deceased person.
Two other incidents of drowning were reported in the Oshana Region over the weekend.
