We Participate in the implementation of various strategic projects

The projects are focused on various sectors related to trade for both private and public institutions. 

The list of projects executed by the NTF include the following: 
1. Time Release Study – The NTF has been involved in two Time-Release Studies conducted by the Namibia Revenue Authority (NAMRA). The studies are part of the World Customs Organization’s support for NamRA to meet the WTO TFA measures. The aim is to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of international trade flows at major ports of entry/exit for Namibia. Thus far, two studies were conducted at the Port of Walvis Bay and the Trans-Kalahari Border Post.

2. ACCESS Training  – In partnership with the International Trade Centre (ITC) the training and capacity building for women entrepreneurs to prepare their products for the export markets and to leverage on the various trade agreements signed by Namibia.

3. Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism (TOAM) – This platform provides access to businesses, traders and agents to list possible challenges they encounter when exporting/importing goods/services. 

4. National Trade Awareness Campaigns – The awareness campaigns are carried out for various trade agreements to unpack the benefits, modalities, requirements, standards, procedures, and other conditions. In 2024, in partnership with the European Union and the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade, the NTF carried out an awareness campaign for EU-SADC Economic Partnership Agreement. 

5. Bio-Innovation Africa (BIA) – launched in partnership with the Bio-Innovation Africa (BIA) under the GIZ, and the NIPDB. The aim of this project is to boost the capacity of local communities that produce indigenous products with a focus on beneficiation, standards, quality and value addition to target various export markets. We launched an export guide for MSME’s on the export of fatty oils. 

The NTF supports various local and international interventions in alignment with socio-economic development, trainings, capacity building, market access, policy formulations, awareness, trade facilitation, trade promotion, digital trade to enhance trade.
