THE West Coast Safety Initiative of Namibia has issued a safety advisory for motorists planning to travel to the coast during the festive season, urging caution and responsible driving to prevent accidents.
The initiative emphasises that drivers should be well-rested before starting their journey and ensure their vehicles are fully roadworthy. Motorists are advised to allow sufficient travel time, exercise patience, and strictly adhere to all road regulations, signs, and markings.
To combat fatigue, travellers are encouraged to take regular breaks, adjust their speed according to traffic volumes, road conditions, and weather, and avoid rushing to reach their destinations.
“We are in no hurry to meet you by accident — please think again before hitting the road,” the initiative warned.
