THE Namibian Police in the Erongo Region are seeking public assistance in tracing the family of a young, light-in-complexion, slender female who perished in a car crash before Karibib.

Serafine Kandjimi, from the Erongo Region, explained that the accident happened on Wednesday, 3 November 2025, at about 15:30 on the B2 road, 10 kilometres before Karibib from Usakos.

“It is alleged that a white Toyota Wish, a 7-seater with seven occupants including the driver, was travelling from Swakopmund to Otjiwarongo when one of the tyres burst. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. Three occupants, including the driver, passed away at the scene. The rest were transported to Usakos State Hospital for treatment,” Kandjimi said.

The deceased were identified as Gerhard Kaawete Shikomba (34), who was the driver; Benson Haleinge Haimbondi (23); and an unidentified slender, light-complexioned female, aged between 18 and 20, possibly a school learner.

No identity documentation was found in her bags.

“Only the next of kin of the male deceased persons have been informed at this stage. Hence, the police are requesting community members to come forward with any information that may lead to the identification of the deceased or assist in tracing her family members. Anyone with information that can lead to the identification of the deceased can contact Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu at 081 681 8100 or Detective Inspector Muduva at 081 213 7799.

“The police extend condolences to the bereaved family and friends. The investigation is ongoing,” Kandjimi concluded.
