NAMIBIA’S men’s and women’s indoor hockey teams opened their 2025 Nkosi Cup campaigns with strong victories in Cape Town, securing early momentum in one of the continent’s top international indoor tournaments.

The annual Nkosi Cup, one of Africa’s premier indoor hockey events, has returned to Cape Town for 2025, bringing together elite national teams for a fast-paced showcase of international competition.

In the men’s opening fixture, Namibia edged the United States 6–5 in a tightly contested match, holding off a late push from the Americans to claim their first win of the tournament.

The Namibian women delivered a dominant performance in their first outing against Zimbabwe, sealing a convincing 7–3 victory to start their campaign on a high note.
