THE Erongo Regional Council has announced supplementary teaching vacancies for the 2026 academic year and is inviting qualified Namibian citizens to apply for posts across several circuits in the region. The closing date for applications is 31 December 2025.

In a notice issued through its Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, the council said it is recruiting teachers at Grades 8 and 9 for schools in the Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Omaruru circuits.

The vacancies include Teacher E (Grade 9) and Teacher F (Grade 8) posts. Successful candidates will receive salaries in line with government scales, as well as housing, transport and, where applicable, remoteness allowances depending on the category of the school.

Applicants for the Grade 9 posts are required to hold a recognised three-year tertiary teaching qualification at NQF Level 6, or an equivalent non-teaching qualification relevant to the subject to be taught, together with a one-year teaching qualification. Similar requirements apply for candidates with recognised trade qualifications.

For the Grade 8 posts, applicants must possess a recognised four-year tertiary teaching qualification at NQF Level 7, or an equivalent non-teaching qualification plus a one-year teaching qualification. Trade-related qualifications combined with teaching credentials will also be considered.

The council cautioned that all foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation report from the Namibia Qualifications Authority. Applications must be fully completed and supported by certified copies of qualifications, academic records, testimonials, proof of probation and a curriculum vitae. Only documents certified by the Namibian Police will be accepted.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and application documents will not be returned.

The closing date for applications is 31 December 2025, and applicants are advised to ensure that their submissions reach the Human Resources Office on or before the deadline.
