WATER supply to Windhoek and areas served by the Von Bach–Windhoek pipeline may be disrupted following a power outage at NamWater’s Von Bach Main Booster Station, caused by heavy rainfall experienced.

The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) confirmed that the power interruption has affected operations at the booster station, potentially impacting water delivery to downstream users, including the City of Windhoek and customers along the Von Bach–Windhoek pipeline.

NamWater spokesperson Mr. Lot Ndamanomhata said technical teams are on site conducting fault-finding investigations to assess the extent of the problem. At this stage, the duration of the outage and the timeline for full restoration have not yet been confirmed.

NamWater has urged the City of Windhoek and affected customers to take precautionary measures and to use available water sparingly to reduce the impact of possible supply disruptions until normal operations resume.

NamWater said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more information becomes available. The utility apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience.
