A SECURITY guard who was on duty at a business outlet near a mosque in the Okandjengedi informal settlement of Oshakati during the morning hours of Christmas Day has allegedly lost his service shotgun in a brazen case of theft.

It is alleged that the guard was seated and his gun was leaning on a rock beside him when a female passer-by suddenly grabbed the gun and ran away with it.

According to the police, a surveillance camera does not show any woman grabbing the shotgun, but it shows that the guard was still carrying the gun until around 06:15. However, it does not show the point at which the gun disappeared.
